Former government appointments offered under Julian

President Julian called for bipartisanship and a promise to work with all parties as he took his oath as the new leader of government. As the new cabinet started to take shape, there was no sign of this promise coming from Liberty House.

From the three cabinet positions posted, all were returning members of previous coalition governments.

  • Immediate past president William D. Money has been appointed as Attorney General
  • Former Culture and Arts secretary Alex Pijanowski has been nominated to continue in the trusted position
  • Immigration ministry nominee Delacruz withdrew his nomination earlier. The president has been reported as preparing to name former coalition minister Gregory Hock as his replacement.
From the 46.6% of the vote the LRP collected from this week's executive government elections, more than a +6 vote swing from coalition members supported the moderate ticket. Is this payback for the underdogs or the new government suffering a loss of support in their own ranks as cause for no LRP nominations to cabinet?

Former LRP presidential nominee Tom Norton said that was not invited to join the Julian cabinet. In the same breath, Mr Norton said it 'didn't come as a shock' either.
The LRP wasn't surprised that they were not invited, given the suspect commercial environment surrounding the government and their non acceptance to attempt a new working agreement with the site owners.

"I've built a lot of support with certain members in the coalition parties within the past few days and we have learned a lot about where we all stand and the love we have for the experiment", Mr Norton said.

"The government could legislatively direct government funds to assist the deposit value in the bank accounts of certain supporters, one supporter in particular. In turn that citizen could use those funds to assist in cultivating some controversial side projects, one side project comes to mind".

"This is by no means a coincidence in the value of the election outcome. Someone in that position would naturally be expected to have issues to the government achieving a new working agreement with Admin. That would prevent tollars flowing into their pockets and wherever else that flow will travel".

Called out to show their value in the legislature, the LRP has strengthened its membership and working field to determine the fate of the Julian agenda.

LRP president Leah Carmody thanked Titulia for its support as it went about the business of the state.

"Titulia asked us to deliver in the election and through the legislature we will do just that", the leader said.

Rumours within all parties are of a prospective Reformer takeover in the top spot come next election. Support for the vice president has risen greater than the president since day two of the new term.

Several LRP members have offered assistance to President Julian many times since he took office, only to have the door shut in their face at every approach. A supporter of the president's is quoted as saying 'I wish he wouldn't do that'.

Confirmations conclude today.

Julian agenda usurped by private industry cash hunt

Days into the new government, President Julian has faced a drop in public support. Shortly into the third day of the term, Julian was forced to resign his campaign promise of forming a new Admin solution.

The change of tone for the new leader was widely anticipated as a high sign to Double D Construction CEO MC Daddy D, whose company would benefit from a massive privitization plan. Sources in the administration said negotiations have commenced in private and bipartisan efforts to improve Titulia's state facilities will transfer to an offsite resource.

"Julian is hoping to wait until citizen support is higher. No one wants to be tied to it if there are no guarantees in it [the proposition] passing", the official said on the condition of anonymity.

When asked how the bipartisanship extended, the official remained tight-lipped.

"If they're not involved now they won't be involved later on. The administration won't accept bipartisan support unless everyone on board supports the partnership".

The questionable third budget bill was a proposal for investing over 14000 tollars in constructing the new Legislature, Stock Exchange and other facilities was defeated earlier today by a bipartisan effort led by the Liberal Republicans, Social Democrats and even the Colonel. The president was asked for detail in the budget, particularly where the money would go.

There was no answer from Liberty House and the third budget instalment was pulled by the executive in a matter of hours.

Former president Gerry Brady joined with former LRP presidential nominee Tom Norton in encouraging the president to separate the bills. The legislature's reaction extended that endeavour to give a better explanation of how the more controversial bills will be spent. A clean culture and arts budget was posted shortly after the original third part was withdrawn and is expected to pass without a hitch.

The president's release of his first "Question Time with the President" was received by many as a sales pitch for the mega buy, with Double D Construction CEO MC Daddy D pea-shooting at the agenda's detractors from the press room floor. Double D Construction has been selected as the successful website construction contractor under previous coalition governments for the National Library, Hall of Fame and the General Courthouse.

Drawing from the pack of cards available to the government, it's a closed book on whether it will proceed as originally planned and declare a coup on citizen lawmakers or strike a compromise between the parties.

LRP president Leah Carmody restated her party's commitment to achieving a new Admin service agreement if elected next term, but left the door open for 'interim arrangements'.

"There is bipartisanship on establishing a parliament. There is no fight there. What we are asking president is not to waive the white flag of surrender with Admin just yet. There are solutions to it. There have been conversations with the government and I ask the president to join in and support a united goal", she said.

Ms Carmody challenged the government leader to do what is right in the national interest and silence special interests looking to make money off of the government's failure.

"It would be disappointing to see an official that had been barely successful in achieving election, claiming that he can refuse to represent the middle road of the republic that are working to help him. I can't put it any better than to clarify our position. We want to work with the president, but to do that the president has to start representing all of Titulia and not the commercial and real estate interests attempting to manipulate the people's house of government".

The LRP leader was unlawfully indicted last week via a suspect complaint made by the Khan of the East Titulia Company and Double D Construction CEO, MC Daddy D. The complaint of the CEO was a protest over researching material of public interest to the republic, that included the "Khan's" business dealings with previous government members. The case is expected to be heard next week.

Election close brings out worst in Titulia

ELECTION RESULT: No mandate

With 9 hours of balloting left, RNC-LN candidate Julian has a 4 vote lead over INC-LRP candidate T. J. Norton. As Norton gained the most momentum during the campaign away from the governing coalition nominee, Titulia has voted for a virtual tie.

The feeling in the republic trends to a Julian win but with a huge loss to past coalition popularity. The April election handed Linardist Party president William D. Money with 60% of the vote - which was down from 80 and 70% for former presidents Gregory Hock and Gerry Brady respectively. Unlike his predecessors on the LN-SDP ticket, the outgoing government president decided not to seek a second term. This left the power base without a weighty candidate.

Based on the latest figures, Norton is trailing Julian by a winnable margin although not many more votes are expected to be cast in these final hours-if any at all. This has been a closely fought election and both campaigns entering the field with strong momentum. Julian for a sixth coalition term in power and Norton offering a viable alternative.

Recap of Day Two

Former Vice President Norton held on to a lead over former Secretary Julian throughout the second day that previously fluctuated between the candidates during day one. There was some noticeable panic in the coalition campaign that Julian was not showing any signs of improvement.

Norton opened up his lead as far as the current margin during peak moments, proving that the race was winnable for the underdog LRP contesting only its second election against the powerful Linardist-SDP base.

As panic set in, so did the smear campaign against Norton and the LRP. Desperate to hold onto Liberty House, a Julian loss was no an option for the coalition that bet everything on the RNC president in a do-or-die showdown.

Accompanied by friend Will Wilberforce, sitting vice president and Julian running mate Reformer took to Norton with the force of a cyclone. The only bullet in their chamber was the McVicker-Norton government's immigration tactic against the Linardist Party that earned both executive members a trip to the courthouse.

There was little substance from Reformer and Wilberforce, packing only a last-ditch smear to Norton hoping to swing undecided voters long enough and put it in the bank. There wasn't any sign of the strategy paying off as mostly all remaining Titulians had gone to the polls.

June election changes election map

April's LRP nominee and president Leah Carmody collected 40% of the vote against her Linardist counterpart. With Norton on the top of the ballot this time, they boosted the party's electoral gain by over 7% compared with last election. With that increase it places the LRP in sights of a strong showing in next term's election, but their success might be shown sooner than what they think.

It emerged that the LRP ticket's agenda heavily pulled in voters that Julian was relying on for his widely anticipated landslide. LRP campaign staff Renee Buchanan, Malinda Noble and Reg Ambrose scrutinised the ballot returns and it was soon discovered that there was no accounting for the independent vote alone flowing to them that knocked down their opponent.

"At a glance it looks like we picked up well over 5 votes from RNC, SDP and Linardist voters and the unaffiliated citizens attracted by what we had to offer Titulia. All up a 14 vote gain that wasn't expected. A very good swing", Ms Noble said.

Day Three seals the deal

Former vice president Norton went into day three grateful to those members in the government caucus and all citizens that listened to the LRP's alternative for a better Titulia.

"I want to thank so many. SDP presidential contender Matt Ingebritson is a great mate and his endorsement means the world. It looks like the economic vote flowed onto us from members of the old Libertarian Party as well of course as the independents that kept an open mind during the campaign".

"For someone that was called a non-factor and everything under the sun I think the result has proven that I am back and the people have overwhelmingly embraced that. There were people I know who voted for my opponent that I share mutual respect with and I appreciate loyalty. I'm grateful to them for keeping it clean during the campaign".

"Obviously during campaigns there are times when it heats up and being that was all they had to play I expected that to happen.. I'm glad I could help out the LRP and improve their chances next time around".

"My message to them - don't give up and keep on trying and pushing the boundaries. Our most successful politicians did the same and it paid off. This was an honourable campaign from our side and it demonstrated that our team wasn't interested in launching rockets, just defending our right to be heard and respond when attacked".

When asked what he thought of his chances, Norton remained coy.

"Right or wrong - I was condemned, berated, smeared, threatened and blamed for all that was wrong with Titulia. This from a coalition that has been in power for five terms and it looks like gaining another".

"With everything going against my chances in this election, I went to the polls with the back of one party - not three, with less support, not a single blog release during the campaign - and ended up a footstep away from being elected President of the Republic. Who could complain under those kind of circumstances? I can live with this election .. it was great to get back into Titulian politics and it's been the best nine days of my citizenship since I can't remember when".

Norton expressed his thanks to members of the coalition for the chance to debate the important issues.

"We all agree that Titulia hasn't got long to go and there is no doubt that a new policy on working with Admin needs to be adopted immediately, with the failed one tossed in the trash. By the end of the genuine debating that ended just two hours ago, I am absolutely convinced I managed to get all sides on board with the same resolve", he said.

"I'm unimpressed that the more influential members of the coalition didn't properly prepare Julian for the seriousness of what's to come. There is a lot of talent in that camp and I think a lot of folks underestimate what they're capable of achieving. On this central theme that was not about politics, or personalities but survival itself - I have to honestly say they fumbled it terribly".

Julian was asked by several citizens how he could translate his slogan "putting ADMIN in his place" into a workable new agreement as it contained the same negative undertones. Citizens in both campaigns agreed that the old way needed to go, while Julian insisted that he would succeed in setting the terms in any negotiation.

A hung parliament?

Titulia's system of government doesn't rely on a legislative function unlike the Westminster system, although the ruling government cannot executive treasury supply in its right. Any new legislation must pass through the citizen legislature including operating budgets, funding disbursements to public programs and all amendments to the constitution.

With the high surge away from the coalition, the LRP is at an advantage to use its election gain to legislate from the citizen congress should it choose to capitalise on it. Voter support for Julian doesn't translate into fixed policy agreement and the fractured coalition is fully aware the LRP know it.

If Julian wanted to set up a truly centrist government, his strongest weapon is to appoint his election opponents to the key government positions he couldn't gain policy traction on. The question is: will he?

LRP secretary Malinda Noble said the party wasn't 'out for a hunt' but expected a shake up from the RNC leader.

"On the chance that Julian wins it won't be by the landslide he hoped for just a few days ago", she said.

"The outcome has already determined that each needs to take the other seriously. We've done our bit and Julian needs to do his".

The LRP won strong gains on the economy, immigration and site reform. Political rage from the RNC over the LRP split has overwhelmed their candidate.

Carrying the enormous swing to the newcomers from the once-irrepressible coalition, this may end up being the bitter pill Julian has to swallow to build the unity government he needs to keep the website populated. At least 4 key non-LRP citizens have told members of the party of their intention to emigrate if the site isn't effectively overhauled.

"I had my lot with it. Nothing changes and this campaign is just another sh*tfest. TJ [Norton] has the right ideas but he'll get blocked out of spite", one citizen was quoted as saying.

In his final words to the voters, IND-LRP candidate Tom Norton laid it on the line.

"The future of the Republic is at stake at this critical time. That friends, is as real as gets", he said.

Polls open in Titulia

END OF DAY 1: Candidates tie for 1st

The polls opened at around 11pm Australian East Coast time and it's been a good start for candidates Tom Norton (IND-LRP) and Julian (RNC-LN) as citizens voted throughout the first day.

As of writing, Norton leads +1 vote to Julian - 19-18.

A good first day to polling

It's been a great turn out to the polls on day one of voting. So far 35 citizens have already cast their vote, coming in at 74% of the 50-citizen total that turned out last election. Campaigners in both houses expect this month's turnout will exceed the April-May poll to decide who will form government and lead Titulia into the next term.

Election gains for candidates

If this was a parliamentary election, Titulia might well be heading for a hung parliament. Out of the major campaign factors, Norton has proven himself to the LRP as the worthy nominee.

Julian has the strategic advantage of support from multiple party machines, but is that going to be enough to stave off the former vice president? Norton has proven capable of fighting off the harshest of critics, while Julian has yet to weather a major political tsunami to test his mettle. Judging my the day's results: this could be anyone's election.

Unconfirmed reports have emerged this may be the second time Julian has appeared on a ticket but definitely his first time on the top of a ballot. No record has been found of a successful vice presidential win for the RNC candidate, meaning that Julian has never succeeded in a nationwide leadership ballot.

This is a major campaigning strength for Norton. This is his third time on a ballot, falling short for the presidency in the early days of the republic. Later on during 2009, he succeeded in winning the vice presidency on the McVicker Progressive Federalist Party Ticket as the Social Democratic candidate.

The LRP is encouraged by the result, especially in the pick up of at least 2+ RNC-LN coalition votes and at least 2 independents.

Member Reg Ambrose categorized the race as 'too close to call'.

"It might strike some as odd but the good news is our expected voter retention from last election doesn't add up. We've lost some conservative support from the RNC which we expected since this time they have a presidential candidate".

"The good news is we've gaining since the release of our 'Better Day' strategy and lack of confidence in our opponent's handling of the Admin question is showing in the results. This had to come from some maverick voters in the incumbent parties. That has improved our standings so far by at least a net gain of around four votes. That's fantastic".

Member John Baxter was also encouraged by the outcome of the first day, but fell short of claiming a win just yet.

"The RNC ran an intense smear campaign against us and that's caused some nervousness in the population for sure. The upside to that there's also some evidence its caused a voter backlash. Not to sound defeatist, but some polling indicated this was going to be a Julian landslide and some Titulian experts had us down by 50 in a TPP [Two Party/candidate Preferred standing] before we even got out there. Win or lose from here I'm happy with the result".

Mr Baxter said he expected a surge in voting early tomorrow morning Australian time, with most benefits going to the RNC-LN campaign.

"Great turnout but tomorrow will give a clearer picture of what's going to happen and that's when the action happens. The party made a good effort despite all the other silliness and I'm sure each member is proud to be part of it".

'Admin' dominates the election agenda

Both campaigns produced and debated various policy differences, but anyone would have thought this was a three-way race. Reviewing the candidate debates and by speaking with voters, the Titulia 'Admin' came up in almost every policy question or comment. Past elders and major players returned and an open agreement was reached as Titulians of here and now openly took thought to keyboard.

What started out as a campaign of personalities soon saw a reciprocal agreement between both candidates, with Norton opting for a new direction that didn't include the website chief.

LRP communications director Renee Buchanan engaged with RNC-LN candidate Julian during the Titulia site candidate exchange, not so much over policy differences, but over his lack of understanding for change.

"Both of us agree there are changes that can be made without Admin and some that need Admin to install on the site. There is room to install some change requests now and allow Admin some breathing space without having to refuse change requests on sight and Julian's policy has no room to breathe", she said.

Outgoing President William D Money (LN) cited a potential stand off of sorts with Admin as his key reason for not standing again for the position.

Mr Norton cited the Admin policy 'meltdown' from the RNC-LN coalition was the largest problem plaguing the incumbent parties in power.

"Our biggest concern during this campaign was Julian's repeated refusal to accept new policy of working with Admin and instead opting to continue a failed approach that doesn't work. The evidence is endless that Admin isn't going to bring on these requests by themselves or at least any time soon. There is a way for that to happen now, but the next government needs to realise the current approach policy needs to be scrapped", Mr Norton said.

More on the election after day two.

The rise, fall and comeback of the Norton juggernaut

There are various unconfirmed accounts of what really happened. Supporters allege he was pushed, while detractors claimed that he jumped of his own accord.

It all began when the Government, led by Dennis McVicker and comeback politico Tom Norton, published an Executive Order authorising members of the Linardist Party to be 'rounded up'. The memo cited multiple commissions of citizen abuse by members of the Linardist caucus as means to '..bring them to justice'.

Norton claimed in court testimony that the war memo was a 'joke' and the executive issued it to cause calamity and bolster activity in an otherwise stagnant state. They succeeded, but at the cost of being sentenced as 'war criminals' and 'felons' by the General Court. Norton was ordered to 13 days suspension from Titulia, which he accepted earlier this year as part of a sentencing deal.

McVicker's initial sentence was commuted on appeal to a judicial censure, ultimately alleviating a more serious penalty for the former president. As history recounts, he left the ranks of Titulia's elite around November and was seldom heard from after that-but not without mention throughout the republic thereafter.

Claims of corruption against McVicker and senior Linardist Party figures have been heavily documented, most prominently by the conservative base that Norton once held. One lingering claim holding substance is the connection between several leading Linardist members and members of the judiciary involved in the controversial East Titulia Company. The company has been secretly acquiring large parcels of land on the east side of Titulia City.

Evidence of the involvement was documented by Norton in a blog dated late March this year based on research conducted by his running mate, LRP president Leah Carmody. The bulk of the dossier came in the form of several 'chat' transcripts held in the publicly accessible, open forum of the company that was hosted on a third-party forum provider website. The transcript provides several direct accounts from company members and investors on the establishment of a housing cooperative.

An impact of understanding the company's establishment was not what caught the pair's eye. The alarm was caused by a comment in the transcript by the cooperative's founder, Clerk of Courts MC Daddy D. The comment referred that the eventual goal was 'succession' from the main republic. Linardist figures defended the comment as an 'off the cuff remark' and said there was never any discussion of succession from the Republic of Titulia.

The other key query was a manifest exchange between the company's members, questioning the Titulia's jurisdictional legality and propriety. One comment on this point was made regarding Chief Justice Colonel's involvement, in that his participation might be seen as bias if it ever came into question within the republic.

The MC promptly reassured his Titulian employer that should it come to that, he would be willing to take responsibility. There was also the matter of the Chief Justice's alleged ex parte conversation over Norton's pending contempt of court sentencing, with a person whose identity remains unclear. What is clear was that the person was not an associate justice and should not have had access to the forwarded email.

This was a far different presentation in public displays of unity by the investors, that there was no impropriety under Titulia law.

The East Titulia affair has died down in the republic over recent weeks. That changed during the election cycle when outgoing president William D. Money (LN) circumvented the Department of Justice Act and laid charges against both members of the LRP ticket for 'trafficking stolen goods' (Carmody) and 'receiving stolen goods' (Norton). Both were also indicted for one count of a Terms and Conditions (Admin rule) article of 'disrupting the user experience'. The charges referred to Carmody's research and Norton's posting, respectively.

Despite the charges, the once popular president has received widespread condemnation for the presidential breach of authority from outside of the Linardist and Social Democratic party coalition.

LRP secretary Malinda Noble said she had complete confidence in Carmody's innocence and the party would stand by her leadership, as it has done so since the foundation of the party. Party figures and notable lawyers James Matthews and Frank Stevens have lept to join Carmody's defence. On legal strategy, Mr Matthews declined to comment other than to say he was not concerned about the outcome.

Mr Matthews described it as '..an event well anticipated in advance from a government more committed to making Money than respecting liberty and citizens rights'. The text from Mr Matthews' email was copied verbatim with the capital 'M' in 'Money'. It's unknown whether that was in reference to the outgoing president, or a grammatical error.

Mr Norton has filed for discontinuance as the president breached legislation in exercising prosecution authority. Ms Carmody is yet to respond to the complaint.

LRP launches its first video ad in campaign

THE Liberal Republican Party has launched it's first televised ad via YouTube centred around the theme "A Better Future for Titulia".

The ad was approved Monday night AEST by Party Secretary MaLinda Noble.

LRP communications director Renee Buchanan pitched the idea for a video over the weekend to send a strong message that the party meant business in its policy to jet Titulia away from the antiquated text-based forum.

"We said it in pushing a voice debate [between the candidates] but that was just the tip of a very large iceberg", Ms Buchanan said.

"Part of what we've been pushing for is to convince the site managers that they need to allow video and voice embedding. We're not asking them to provide it, just to allow it. The citizens are capable of doing the rest".

In reviewing the advertisement, it was clear from the start that this wasn't another 'still and text' ad. Using live video cuts from media and tourism bureaus, the party machine took out a machete to the RNC-Linardist coalition. The ad starts off as opening fire at the coalition government for Bill of Rights and legislative abuses and for the privacy invasion within the coding of third-party government websites tracking visitors and system information.

In the second half of the ad, it moves from a nation under grasp toward a vibrant democracy committed to immigration, building a trade economy and planning toward the future under new leadership.

LRP party secretary MaLinda Noble calls the ad a 'fair charge'.

"Obviously we've used creative license in the material selected to make the advertisement but I stand by it 100%. The claims referred to in the ad are fair calls and they are historic complaints against this regime", she said.

LRP executive member Cara Dellahunty gave the ad a 'thumbs up' on vote.

"It's now apparent that the only way to prevent further rights abuses and taking Titulia forward is by removing them [the RNC-LN coalition] from power at the election", she said.

Money charges opponents over East Titulia exposure

Government President William D. Money (LN) has formally charged candidates Tom Norton and Leah Carmody for one count of common law theft and one count of disruption of the user experience under the Terms and Conditions.

The charge stems from an independent investigation conducted by Carmody following-up a leaked e-mail claiming the East Titulia Company (also called 'ETitCo') were using their roles in government to take over the real estate giant TCRED and force a monopoly over land in Titulia City. Carmody has already provided evidence to the republic that she used search engine giant Google™ to query any publicly accessible documents relating to East Titulia.

The evidence previously tabled by Carmody is reliable testimony, given the company's forum hosted at nabble.com was unsecured and open to public access. This places Money in a difficult position, as in order to prove theft of private property he must prove that the global search engine giant's listings were not within the public domain. As Google™ is used by over 1.4b people per day for the same purpose, odds are the outgoing President's attempt to successfully prosecute his political enemies will add heat on Chief Justice Colonel - another financial member of ETitCo - to drop the case with prejudice.

Mr Norton has been charged as a co-accused because he released the exposé on his Titulia blog account.

The LRP has retained James Matthews and Dr Frank Stevens of Manhattan LLP as joint counsel, but say they will not be dishonouring the Republic by responding to charges they claim as 'politically motivated' and without 'proper authority'.

In speaking for his clients, Mr Matthews of Manhattan LLP said that the President's failure to abide by the Department of Justice Act 2009 ['DoJA'] and leave the matter for the Attorney General is 'an abuse of power by the chief executive'.

"DoJA speaks to the issue of prosecution in very clear terms, that no one else in the Executive can act as Attorney General bar the Attorney him/herself or a delegate as the AG specifically appoints. The Executive cannot accept this power in vitro or onto another, even in absentia of an Attorney General. The language in the Act is very, very clear", Mr Matthews said.

Calculating previous prosecutions, this would be the second time a coalition president has ignored DoJA. The first recorded occasion was provided by former VP Norton, in which he applied through the Chief Justice to the Attorney General for excuse to return for a party vote. Its rejection was accepted, however the communiqué reports that the rejection was not given by the Attorney General, but by then-president Gerry Brady.

In response to the growing abuse of process by the coalition, Vice President Norton has tabled an enforcement supplemental bill in the legislature that calls for any government, present or future, to enforce and honour the Act.

LRP policy spokesperson Reg Ambrose has called on the citizens to vote yes on the supplemental.

"It's the right time to take this on board. It's the right thing to do and take Titulia one step further in preventing the abuse and politicization of the legal process. It's right that Titulia sends a message to the public officers involved with the East Titulia Company, that their attempts to abuse privileges to get even with those that exposed them are inappropriate", he said.

Communications Director Renee Buchanan alternated course from her colleagues and encouraged the process to continue.

"
That they [East Titulia Company] treat the judicial system with such contempt grinds away the last layer of any credibility they may have once had as supporters of good public law. In the interests of promoting lawful activity I'm bound to recommend they cease, but if they don't then it adds another mark against the company members that have used their government positions throughout this charade", she said.

"That provides another reason why the LRP are the better alternative to lead with fairness and respect for legislation and the Bill of Rights".

A date is yet to be scheduled.

Where's the People's Debate?

NO PROGRESS ON VOICE DEBATE:
"What are the candidates hiding now?"

The IND/LRP campaign team has called on the RNC-Linardist coalition to remove the roadblocks and accept their invitation of a live/recorded voice debate between the candidates.

Given former Vice President Norton's life experience in politics, the IND/LRP campaign team has offered telephone resources and composure breaks to their opponent in order to sweeten an agreement with the RNC-LN campaign on a voice debate.

In response to today's article from the Titulian Conservative - ON A DEBATE: JULIAN WANTS TNC TO HOST - Mr Norton has questioned the integrity of debate negotiators and renewed calls to give the people of Titulia a real debate. The last voice debate in a presidential contest was between former President Luxis Avaram (R) and then-Libertarian candidate for President, Dennis McVicker.

"The people want a voice debate and they deserve one. Our campaign has been trying to work with the other to get a date while they're running away from the idea", said LRP Communications Director Renee Buchanan.

Presidential Candidate, former Vice President T. J. Norton said he has done 'everything possible' to get a debate deal, instead the RNC-LN campaign are shying away from the table.

"I agreed to their moderator and offered my telephone resources because I understand that my opponent's microphone resources are sub-standard. I know there is nothing wrong with the proposed moderator's equipment because he's done this before. The hold up makes me curious what the RNC-Linardist campaign are hiding", said Mr Norton.

Rumours are circulating within the campaigns over concern for Julian's performance as being the roadblock to the debate. Mr Norton defended the need for all candidates to be able to debate on a level playing field and supported every accomodation to his opponent.

"We all come from different places around the world and language barriers should be no infringement on a fair and solid debate. My opponent would have every support from our side of the table for periodic pauses, water breaks, time to look over notes or whatever he needed to make it happen", he said.

WHAT'S GONE SO WRONG IN THE TITULIA PUBLIC DEBATE FORUM?

The candidates forum has aroused condemnation from both sides over the appearance of an avatar "CyberOnWheels". The avatar has alleged he had a sexual conversation with RNC-LN candidate Mr Julian and provided an unauthenticated transcript in their blog and in the debate forum.

On behalf of the IND/LRP campaign, former Vice President Norton jumped to condemn the release of the transcript to the public arena.

"This kind of attack has no place in Titulian politics. I don't care if my opponent had such a conversation, I don't care if he didn't. This is a pure exhibit of the kind of behaviour that has been killing Titulian discourse over the past five months", Mr Norton said.

"I applaud the efforts of many that are standing united in response to this sort of behaviour and the staunch resolve to wipe it from our Republic once and for all. My opponent is in my thoughts during this time and has my support on this".

LRP Communications Director Renee Buchanan says that with these various disruptions and attempts to hijack the debate, only a live-recorded moderated voice debate can provide a clear, democratic way for the candidates to put their cases for election forward.

"This campaign is between the candidates and the smear tactics from abroad have no place", she said.

Voting starts on 8th June at just on 6:30 am AEST and 7th June in the US.
